After his death, his people were able to use his DNA to create 2 sets of alien hybrids 'clones' of Zan and the rest of the Royal Four of Antar. These included Isabel Evans Ramirez (Vilandra, Zan's sister), Michael Guerin (Rath, Vilandra's husband and Zan's second-in command), and Tess Harding (Ava, Zan's wife). The clones were sent to Earth to hide them from Max's enemy - Kivar. The craft carrying Max, Isabel, Michael, and Tess crashes in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. The Army finds the alien pods and takes them into a base for study. The four are saved from this fate by an Air Force pilot and stashed in a new ship hidden in a rock formation. About 40 years pass before the clones "hatch" in 1989. Max, Isabel, and Michael leave the pod together, looking like small human children aged about 6 years old. The three children were blank slates with no memories of life on Antar, nor of the fourth hybrid - Tess (who is individually rescued by an Antarian with an agenda). Max and Isabel are found together by a couple of lawyers, the Evans, who adopt the two and make a loving and stable home for them. Michael hides when this happens, and is eventually discovered and eventually placed with an abusive Foster father. Max, Isabel and Michael grow up in Roswell keeping their true selves and the powers they possess hidden fearing the consequences of discovery by a fearful and xenophobic government. These three continue to go completely unnoticed and blend in perfectly until one fateful evening, in a diner called 'The Crashdown Cafe', there occured an incident that would change their lives forever.... The Crashdown Cafe was was pure kitsch and a total tourist trap, but Max wasn't there for the cleverly named menu items or the spacey decor or the waitresses with bobbing antennae on their heads...well, not all the waitresses...Liz was working tonight. Liz Parker's parents owned The Crashdown and Liz actually worked most nights. Max was there to have a bite and to see Liz...he wasn't going to talk to Liz or anything...Liz was dating Kyle Valenti. Max just liked to be around Liz...Liz was nice...Liz was pretty...he'd secretly loved Liz since he was first adopted by the Evans and sent to school at 6 years old. When two customers break into a fight and Liz gets shot accidentally, Max rushes to her side and heals the wound simply by placing his hand over it, bringing her back to life. Liz later discovers a silver hand print on her stomach, a mystery she becomes determined to solve. During a biology class experiment, Liz sneaks a sample of Max's saliva and examines it under a microscope, discovering that Max's cells look nothing like human cells. She confronts Max, who then admits that he, his sister Isabel and their friend Michael are aliens whose spaceship crashed at Roswell in 1947. By telling her, Max breaks the ultimate taboo that he, Isabel, and Michael have kept their whole lives. Liz becomes the first human being who is let into the secret he has kept for so long. Unfortunately, the events that evening at the diner set off a series of events with local law officials, especially Sheriff Valenti, that would snowball and threaten to expose Max, Isabel and Michael once and for all. Soon Sheriff Valenti would be the least of their worries as the FBI and random alien hunters joined the fray. Special Abilities: Max has a special healing ability which he alone amongst the aliens seems to possess. He can also produce a force field which can protect himself and others from being hit by an object. Like Isabel and Michael, he is able to change the molecular structure of things. Personality:Max is an archetypal leader being spurred on to bold action by his protective nature of the people he cares about; he also takes responsibility for his actions and choices, and is never beyond offering apologies to those he hurts. Max's personality is introverted, which can be misinterpreted as shy. He is known as a deep thinker and is sometimes accused of making decisions that are far too conservative...Max hates the unknown. Appearance:Max is a handsome teenage boy of medium, athletic build. His 6'0" frame is muscular, but not overly so. His skin is fair, his eyes dark hazel and his hair, which he wears short, is such a deep brown as to be mistaken for black. Max's mode of dress would lead one to believe that he works on a dude ranch; leather jacket, jeans, tee shirts, cotton shirts, flannel shirts, leather boots, hiking boots,etc....key word : casual.
